Dr. Amr Salama is a board-certified interventional and structural cardiologist with expertise in complex coronary interventions and a broad spectrum of transcatheter structural heart procedures. His clinical focus includes transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve repair (TMVR), left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO), and other advanced catheter-based therapies for structural heart disease.

Dr. Salama earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, before relocating to Rochester, New York, to complete his residency in internal medicine, where he served as Chief Medical Resident. He went on to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular disease, also serving as Chief Fellow.

He pursued further subspecialty training in interventional and structural cardiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he gained extensive experience in advanced coronary and structural heart interventions. Dr. Salama is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care with a strong emphasis on integrating the latest technologies and techniques to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Salama has been actively involved in professional societies and medical education. He served as the Upstate FIT Liaison for the New York State Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and contributed to the ACC Fellows-in-Training Webpage, authoring educational content for cardiology fellows. He has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, and clinical case reports presented at national and international cardiology conferences.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Salama enjoys swimming, playing soccer, and spending quality time with his wife and two children.
