Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Patel graduated from East Carolina University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biology and Philosophy in religion. After Medical School he trained in San Francisco for Internal Medicine Residency at Kaiser and went on to specialize in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology with a focus in Structural Heart procedures. He was part of the team to start transcatheter mitral valve repair in Kern County and help establish a high volume program with excellent results. He now focuses on complex, high risk cardiac procedures to improve the quality of life of his patients.
