Mackenzie Fries is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNPC-AG) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). Originally from Cleveland, OH, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Evansville (Indiana). After practicing as a bedside nurse for six years, Mackenzie went on to further her education at University of South Alabama, obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing with a dual specialty in both acute care medicine of the gerontologic patient and family medicine.
As a nurse, Mackenzie spent time working in various intensive care unit settings across the country including neurological, cardiovascular, medical, surgical, and trauma/burn. Across the differing intensive care unit settings, Mackenzie has always maintained a passion for the cardiovascular system, welcoming an opportunity to join the Cardiovascular Consultants Heart Center team. Mackenzie will be partnering with Dr. Boran to provide personalized treatment plans to optimize the health and wellness of each individual patient. She is eager to build long-term relationships with the patients' and their families. Mackenzie is passionate about preventative medicine and empowering her patients through education.
Mackenzie lives in the Central Valley with her husband and their 2-year-old basset hound. Not a native to the area, Mackenzie enjoys exploring new parts of California with her husband and dog in their travel trailer. She enjoys trying new food and being outside, whether it be hiking, paddle boarding or swimming.
Mackenzie is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners’ (AANP) and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
