Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE)
It is a specialized ultrasound of the heart which is performed to obtain detailed pictures of your heart. It is performed by inserting a probe with an ultrasound transducer in the esophagus. This is usually an outpatient procedure performed in the hospital.
