Originally from New York, Dr. Gen graduated from Cornell University and worked at the prestigious Salk Institute. He left a career in science to pursue medicine and cardiology. He trained at the University of Colorado in Denver and at Brown University with cardiologists who pioneered angioplasty and stenting, giving him experience with the most advanced cardiac procedures. Despite many prestigious awards including outstanding Research Fellow and awards by the National Institute of Health by other cardiologists, he is most proud of the Patient Satisfaction Award bestowed on him by his patients.
